The Goldenrod Model 1420-LF Pneumatic Mechanical Chuck is recommended for challenging unwind applications where perfect centering is required. It can also be used for rewinding solid roll applications with higher weight, speed, and torque requirements. You will see these chucks on high-end coating/converting lines that put a premium on maximum production and zero down time. Expansion is accomplished by air activated piston(s) that mechanically engage the expanders. Expansion can be air engage/spring retract or spring engage/ air retract. Quick change adapters (seen above) can be slid over a base chuck to safely convert from one core size to another – no tools required!
